Over the weekend my husband introduced me to Regina Spektor's Folding Chair and I became an instant fan. I was already a huge fan of her's but this song is just so much fun, I dare you to listen and not bop around, I know I can't. I just wish there was an actual music video to the track! So have a listen and let me know what you think. Its such a happy song, I had to play it twice while sipping a fresh cup of coffee to wake up this morning.

The end of the road
Sometimes when you hear news of bands breaking up, its a bit sad knowing you wont be able to enjoy their tunes live anymore, but this morning I woke up to an announcement that took me way back. My all time favorite band has broken up. After 20 years of creating awesomely good music, Silverchair, an Australian band that started in their garage at the ripe ol' age of 12 has called it quits. Terribly sad news, as I have been a fan for just about 15 years and in fact just took down their poster from my childhood bedroom this past weekend. What are the odds? Anyway, its always sad to hear of anyone calling it quits, especially when you have so many great memories, its like the soundtrack of my youth has just come to an end. Needless to say, I'll be playing all their albums today, on repeat.

Musical Wednesday's, Shake me down
Seems like Cage the Elephant is all over the place right now and now I can't seem to get enough of their sound either. With a mix of indie and rock and perhaps a smidge of grunge, I am sort of loving it. I saw their live stream from Cochella, they sure know how to have a good time on stage too. Happy Wednesday friends.

Musical Wednesday's, Barton Hollow
I'm totally into this sort of twang, folk like music that is becoming ever popular and when I came across The Civil War's Barton Hollow, I knew it was another to add to the soul grabbing, toe tapping playlist. There is just something so raw when bands aren't afraid to just sing with an instrument instead of making giant productions. And it helps when one of the members just happens to resemble one of my all time favorite and totally crush worthy actors. Enjoy.

Musical Wednesday, Two Weeks
Its halfway through the week and I am up to my eyeballs with things to do. Aside from packing and picking up my keys today (!) I got a call over the weekend to do a big drafting job for a return client. Can't complain, nothing beats being able to keep up the freelancing, but what timing. And on top of that, my mother in law is ready to start the design process on her new custom built home... so I get to do that too! Phew. I still love it.
For this week, I thought I would share a bit of an oldie, Grizzly Bear's Two Weeks. The video is totally freaky with morphing faces, think Soundgarden's Black hole sun. Hope everyone has a productive and quick week, I know its going to go super fast for me! Enjoy.

Musical Wednesday's
Now that packing is in full swing, I have been blasting music to keep me going, and Miike Snow's Animal has the perfect beat to keep you on the move. Anyone know what's with all the military jackets lately? I like them, but they seem to be popping up on hipsters everywhere. Enjoy.

Hipster hump day, Nine Types of Light
Happy Wednesday friends, for you today, I have a new to me band with a touch of funk, a splash of hipster and a whole lot of style. Tv on the Radio has put together this (lengthy) movie set to their entire album, and well, its pretty darn cool. With different videos and interviews intertwined together, Nine Types of Light is the perfect movie to tune into while still working on projects. The first music video starts around minute 2:30. Enjoy.

Hipster hump day, In the sun
A little late to the game on this one, but who doesn't love a little She & Him, over and over again? Last years In The Sun is a fun mix of pop, country and plan ol' fun. I just love her sound, so different then what is out there today. Not to mention her adorable style, I wish I could fill my closet with her vintage looks and girly outfits. Enjoy.

Hipster hump day: Achin Heart
Hi friends, seems I jumped the gun a little yesterday and got back outside in the garden... now I'm paying the price with these allergies. Sheesh. Anyway, thought I would share Pomplamoose's new song Achin heart with you today. If you've never heard of them, they are a pretty awesome duo who not only play all the instruments, they also edit their own videos together. I just love their music, and the videos just make you smile. And if they sound familiar, there is a good chance you heard their cover of Lady Gaga's Telephone or Beyonce's Single ladies (which I personally think is way better then the original!). Enjoy.

Hipster hump day, New Soul
So you have probably heard this song a million times, but didn't know who it was right? Yeah, me too. After doing a little digging, I am so happy I found the video for New Soul by Yael Naim. Not only is the song lovely to listen to, its one cool video. I just love when videos get a little artsy. Oh how I would love her collection of frames! Enjoy.
