Light and airy

Now that its officially summer, all I can think about is warm weather, sandy beaches and lounging around.  Unfortunately its back to grey and gloomy around here, these last two days have been shockingly warm, such a tease.  So I am left to dream, and these brightly lit interior shots from photographer Kim Cornelison just oozes light and airy.  I was drawn into Kim's beautiful portfolio by this amazing hanging bed, it just screams luxurious.  Although I wonder how practical it actually could be.  Be sure to check out the rest of her wonderfully composed portfolio here, there are so many lovely shots.

You have got to stop by and check out this bathroom transformation over at Poppytalk.  From the tub, to the  accessories, this bathroom is to die for!

I don't know about you, but I go gaga over cupcakes.  Ok, anything sweet in general.  But these root beer cupcakes from Smitten kitchen make me long for that tasty beverage.  I made a bet with my Mom back on New Years, 1998 to see who could go the longest without drinking soda.  We both haven't had a sip since!  Wonder if I make these for both of us, if it will still count??

Always looking for the next DIY project, Prudent Baby has a step by step tutorial on how to reupholster a small stool.  A great way to upcycle items found at garage sales, thrift stores or hand me downs, adding new fabric to old pieces transform the look and give it a second life.

We all dream of ridiculously good looking laundry rooms, check out Houzz's collections of inspiring rooms.  While you may not want to go all out and color coordinate the room with your accessories, storage is the key component to make even something as small as a closet (above) functional.

How fun is this postcard project found over at Oh happy day.  There is also a wonderful tutorial if you so choose to make one.

Found this fantastic wall treatment over on Loving. living. small.  Tiny circles, hand cut and pinned to the wall,  might be a ton of work, but the look is amazing.  A perfect way to accent a wall, especially if you can't paint.

Loving this beautiful fabric peacock over at Kirrey blog. So many adorable fabric friends, I wish I had the time to finally crack open my new Martha Stewart crafting book.

Looking for a fun diy project?  How about making some floral like wrapping paper using celery and lettuce!  Found over at Inklore design.

Beautiful inspiration

And for my home inspiration for the week, its clear, I've got summer on the brain.  I have always loved dutch doors, and the yellow and blue, what a wonderful surprise.

Yellow, white, red and green.  All colors you wouldn't think to put together but it sure does work in this space. 

I love these little vanity chairs!  The husband found one at a thrift store in olive green and gold.  It looks awesome against our red fence.  

What a wonderful way to add lighting to a patio.  Summer's almost here and I could just imagine hanging out at the table playing cards.

Nothing prettier then a collection of colored glass and set of baby blue Eames chairs.

I just love the look of this tabletop, so sunny and fresh.  The hanging detail not only looks great, it also draws the eye downward toward the centerpiece.

Oh how I love this living space!  I have always been a fan of exposed brick, and the crumbling paint gives it an industrial feel but paired with the white wall and floral touch, it makes it a home.  And how lovely is the furniture!  Keeping it low to the ground makes the ceiling feel even higher.

The girly girl in me just loves every element in this bedroom.  Lavender and white make for a very warm and cheerful feel.

Tia Borgsmidt, one fine photographer

Its no shocker that I love bright bold color and when I came across Danish photographer Tia Borgsmidt's portfolio, my heart skipped a beat.  Hello color.  I love the way she uses natural light to enhance the beauty on her subjects, whether it be those amazing cupcakes or an interior shot.  Please do stop by and get inspired by her lovely work, she had me at the first click.

I think I am still swooning over that last photo with the stairs.  Bright whites, pinks and purples... its like it was meant for me.
