Colorful creatures

Now that everyone knows about our growing little lady {sqwee!} I keep getting asked what kind of nursery we are planning. We may not have an entire room to dedicate to our little one but the husband and I sure are planning an area for her filled with lots of colors, shapes and animals. And these wood blocked pillows would be the perfect addition to her space. I have always liked the idea of incorporating a more "grown up" color palette...who says we have to have bright pink princess everything anyways? I just love how these pillows not only have fun shapes but incorporate a more fantasy meets realistic look. They would go perfect with the knobs I got for her dresser too! Stop by Laura Frisk's shop for her full line of fun pillows, wall hangings, purses and accessories.

Realistic meets quirky

I'm totally digging these not so ordinary cushions and prints from Jaime Mitchell Illustration. They are the perfect amount of humor and are quite eye catching, I mean come on, a winking bear and a hipster polar bear, how can you not love it? He has such a realistic technique for the animals, they look as if the fur is waving in the wind. You can find the cushions over at Ohh deer as well as prints and iphone skins over at Society 6.

Vintage pillows

Don't you just love re purposing older items into something new and fabulous? I know I do, and Margriet from The Netherlands does too.  Using vintage found scarves, MG by Maggie creates lovely throw pillows paired with a sturdier back fabric to create one of a kind home decor. These would be perfect for a touch of color here and there, that brown, yellow and orange one would look fantastic on my burnt orange vintage sofa.

Soraam

I seem to be gravitating towards muted colors these days - probably due to the lack of sunshine, and these detailed designs by graphic designer Soojin for Soraam are perfect for the look I've got going on in my place.    Beautiful napkins, place mats, pillows and totes are screen printed and made to order.  Just so happens the husband mentioned it may be time for new mats, our current ones are a bit on the sad side.

Chocolate Creative

I just love these fun prints, totes, mugs and pillows from South London artist Margarita Lorenzo of Chocolate Creative.  With a background in graphics, Margarita fused her love of all things vintage and furniture to create the 'Decayed Glamour' collection.  Each are hand screen printed and have such a cool, sketch like feel.  And check out the Chocolate Creative blog for more inspiration and interiors.

Happy New Year

Happy New Years Eve friends!  Doesn't it seem like time is just flying by?  We moved the week before Thanksgiving and now the year is over!  And I'm still not used to this weather.  Oh well.  Do you have plans for the evening?  The husband and I are going to venture out to San Francisco with the masses in hopes of getting into a club with a hipster band, fingers crossed, there are no pre sale tickets!  YIKES.

But before I close out the year, I had to share with you the lovely items over at Octavi, a small shop from England.  I just love the delicate and modern look of these pillows, made from vintage and new fabrics and filled with natural and eco friendly stuffing.  They are perfect for sprucing up a corner.  You can also find a few treasures here and there, loving that green bowl, just wish I needed another one around here.

Reiter8

I have always loved the bags from Reiter8, and with sailing on the brain (the husband and I are heading to Oceanside in two weeks for a sunset sail), its only appropriate I took a look to see what was new.  And oh was I excited about all of designer Katherine Rasmussen's new goodies.  I might just have to get that N graffiti bag!  Made from old sails, each piece is hand crafted by Katherine, on her dining room floor.  And do check out her Etsy portrait, where she shares her home studio and process.

Kiddie friendly

It seems all my friends are having babies these days, seriously, I can count 7 off the top of my head.  After getting a 3D sonogram texted to me with an old friends little girl, I had babies on the brain.  So off I was scouring over little goodies to fill rooms, and these prints and pillows from Kate Durkin would fit in perfectly with any children decor.  Although after seeing the custom giant whale and owl she did on her blog, I might just have to get one for me.

Etsy top 3 Tuesday

Today's trip through Etsy is filled with a few lovely home decor pieces for your viewing pleasure.  First up are the delicate linen pillows from Dedeetsyshop.  Embellished with flowers, animals, and stitching, these pillows are perfect for rooms that need a focal point.

Have a room that could use a colorful and charming touch?  Check out Something's hiding in here.  These little blocks would be fun in a kids room or placed together for a little collection of color.  You can also find the ever popular mustache on a stick for all the upcoming summer photo booth fun.

Entertaining this summer?  The small vases from Rou Designs would be wonderful on a tabletop filled with florals.  Made with white porcelain, these vases and shakers are great for modern looks.
