Quick break for eco friendly penmanship

Made with 100% recycled color paper, these eco friendly paper pencils from Moxie Pear are the perfect accessory for any desk. They come in a variety of colors and are even shipped to you in a biodegradable mailing tube- how awesome is that. I keep saying I need to start sending out more snail mail, perhaps a collection of these guys would jump start it.

Picnic anyone?

Everyone loves a good picnic, and the brilliant minds over at Boxsal have come up with a super clever and environmentally friendly way to get your grub on.  With 3 different designs to choose from, the Urban picnic, Today's date, and Office escape, each box includes everything you could possibly need.  All made from compost-able materials, not only are you one with mother nature while you munch, you're not going to hurt her afterwards either.  A total win win.  While the plates, bowls and utensils are more on the 'one time use' side, the actual box can be used over and over.  I've been practically begging the husband to go on more picnics, and these would sure be better to carry around then our slew of free tote bags!  And do check out Boxsal's blog for fun picnic tips, recipes and ideas.

Plastica

A few months back I came across Plastica while walking around town and fell in love with all their colorful (and not all plastic) goodies.  Their unique and often environmentally friendly products are not only fun to play with in the store, they are perfect for adding pops of color for the summer.  Their 'green' line not only has great options for the home, they are super functional.  I love these stretch bags, they are made out of recycled billboards!  After looking at all their new products, I'm thinking the husband and I might need to make another visit.

Fantastic Eco friendly birdhouses

Now that the garden is growing, I have had my eye out for some fun and eco friendly bird houses, and I think I may have found a fun option!  These 'nests', designed by Ronel Jordaan and available through Sprout home, make for a warm and fuzzy home for your winged visitors.  Each nest is made from 100% wool and is created using soaps and dyes that are biodegradable, creating grey water that is then used to water an organic garden.  Amazing.
