Sometimes keeping it nice and simple packs the biggest punch and these handmade necklaces from Knots are perfect to add a little pizzazz to any tee. Made from wire, metal and wood these are casual enough for everyday yet still make a statement for those nights out. Win win.

Big blooms

I need to go somewhere special enough to wear giant flowers like these from Natalie Chan in my hair. I just love the idea of soft petals taking over if only I could just wear one of these to the grocery store. You can find fantastic hair accessories for weddings and special occasions in Natalie's store, along with wonderful veils and hats.

Blog love, Skunkboy.

Goodness me life has been hectic lately, between everyday shenanigans, visiting with friends and spending time with the husband I feel like I've barely been around. But now that things are starting to fall back into a normal routine and blog reading is back to an everyday occurrence I'm finally feeling inspired and even a bit excited to share my findings. Which leads me to ask, where have all the bloggers gone? After a few weeks of not checking in with my favorites I'm finding more and more blogs left abandoned with their writers going on to new projects....so needless to say I need a few new recommendations! What are you guys reading?

I was however able to stumble across the fun blog of Skunkboy, aka mid-western momma Katie who has a closet I would die for! I simply fell in love with her outfit posts, so much color, texture and pure braveness for baring her arms in the cold winter months. I would highly recommend checking out her little part of the interwebs, after almost an hour of browsing previous posts she's been bookmarked for sure. Below are just a few of my favorite clothing choices, that last pink dress was a total DIY so be sure to stop by and share the blog love, you wont be disappointed.

Fancy felt

Its always a challenge to find something both colorful and vegan when it comes to casual purses but these handmade felt clutches are right up my colorful alley. I make it a must to avoid all leather and though many companies are now using fake leather it still gives off the same look in my opinion which still seems just as bad. I don't know call me crazy. I'm totally digging Fancy Felt, a shop filled with colorful and totally vegan clutches and cases...they are perfect for adding a bit of flair while still being cruelty free. A winner in my book.

MNKR

A few weeks ago the husband and I attended the first ever Unique SF and went a little crazy on all the incredible handmade goods. Years ago Unique LA was one of my most favorite shopping experiences and when we moved lets just say I was totally bummed...but now that they have made it up here I'm one happy camper again! One of my favorite items I picked up for myself was that blue Be the change sucka sweater tee from MNKR. Its quite possibly one of the most comfy pieces of clothing I own and well, who doesn't like to make a bit of a statement? They have a slue of fun tees, tanks and sweater tees to choose from both for men and women so go show a bit of handmade support.

Linked.

Its been a while since I did a round of up totally awesome links I found throughout the week so I figured I'd give you a peek into what I've been adoring, wanting and needing to buy. Have a good weekend friends, hopefully you all get a nice 3 days of relaxing in a bit of sun. The husband and I are headed inland to help my in a move, can't wait to soak up a bit of country living, even if I do have to douse myself in bug spray. So, go forth and click, there are some really cool things out in the interwebs.

This behind the scene video featuring Bri of Design Love Fest was shot by her talented boyfriend Arian. Its crazy cool.

{Major girl alert} My husbands 10 year high school reunion is coming up and I need to find something to wear. Total dilemma as I have no idea what looks good on me. Turns out all that eating healthy and exercise paid off and I am now 4 sizes smaller. I've been browsing styles but still can't decide on what I want to wear, but I liked these colors, textures and styles.

I've been trying to find the perfect laundry basket to finally get things in order in our closet. This one from Toast has the look, just wish it was in America. Wanting a blue, gold and bronze necklace from Elephantine, it's a perfect pendant for summer. And that video featuring a band, 2000 photos and 300 fans is just visually stimulating.
And lastly, I can't stop listening to A thing for me by early Metronomy. Its both the strangest and coolest looking video. I've been hooked on these guys since seeing them live, they were pure awesomeness in skinny jeans.
Happy weekend friends.

Vegan friendly

I just love to discover new handmade fashion finds and throw in a few vegan options and you have yourself one happy shopper. Seems more and more people are beginning to use synthetic fabrics in lieu of animal products and I couldn't be more excited for all the shopping choices. Atlantic Crossings has a wonderful assortment of vegan and upcycled totes, handbags and messenger bags made with fabrics that are animal friendly. *Upcycled are made of animal products.

Ruffles and lace and frills oh my

I've never rocked a sock and heel at the same time, but these laced duds from Tabio might just be fun enough to give the look a whirl. Totally girly, totally adorable, totally affordable. Plus a pair of these would be a perfect match for my newest shoe score, I have teeny tiny feet and found these babies in the kids section for a whopping $8. Sometimes its nice to be super small.

Chicwish

I came across Chicwish last night and couldn't believe all the great finds {at totally great prices too!} this little shop had to offer. Based out of Hong Kong, super stylish curators Olivia and Garlok have pulled an incredible collection of soft and girly clothing and accessories almost all with a touch of vintage glam.  I gathered a few of my favorite pieces I would love to add to my closet, if only I could wear such light and airy clothes every day. And as a little splurging bonus, if you order over $120 worth of goods shipping is free!

Quick break for funny tees

Sometimes I forget to pick up essential layering items like plan ol' tshirts, but this one from The bold banana {um, love that name!} is just to funny to forget. You can find more hilarious tees in the shop, both for men and women as well as totes and aprons. And yes, I like the occasional nap.

Feeling sassy

Sometimes a girl has just got to accessories to brighten up the day and with all the grey going on around here, I really need a pop of color. So I dug into my scarf collection and pulled out this little green polka dot number. From blah to sassy in under a minute. Love it.

Skunkfunk love

Over the weekend the husband and I did a little unintended shopping, sometimes just hopping off the bus to wonder around can be super fun. After walking around Haight St, I walked past a little shop with a 50% off sale for the entire store. Um, hello sale!! It took me less then 5 minutes to pick up that fun grey and yellow side bag, its perfect for small items, something I'm finding you really really need in a walking city. I was hesitant at first thinking it was leather, but the lovely sales women assured us Skunkfunk was a sustainable company that made every effort to reuse materials, and that adorable little guy is actually recycled plastic bottles. Though I couldn't find any of the actual information on Skunkfunk's site, I'll just have to take her word for it. And after browsing through their summer and winter collections, there are so many bags I now might just need! Its so hard to come by a non leather purse that is made with good quality materials and with love, but Skunkfunk has managed to find a way, its fantastic in person.

Blog Love: The Glamourai

I totally have a fashion blog crush on Kelly Framel of The Glamourai and every time I stop by her site for inspiration I am never disappointed. Kelly studied apparel design in college and is currently running around the streets of NY all dolled up while making a splash in the style consulting world. Aside from gorgeous shoots that she herself styles for major brands, Kelly also has a line of unique jewelry that she just so happens to showcase fantastically on her blog. I really just can't get enough of her style, so sophisticated and well thought out, every 'costume' as she calls it has its own unique look. Oh how I wish I could pull these looks off, but with SF weather being so cold, bare legs are a distant memory.

Me & d

If I could live in soft yoga clothes all day I probably would, but the judging glares thankfully keep it to a minimum out in public. But these handmade wares from Me & D are perfect for any casual outing. I've been looking for something to throw on when I walk to the grocery store, but for some reason the outerwear options around here are either too fancy and thick or just too simple and look like workout clothes. But those hoodies are perfect and have a very unique look making them stand out from the standard zip or button up, plus that blue one can be worn 5 different ways! This Sacramento mother and daughter team has a shop filled with lovely and comfortable wares as well as fun accessories and bags. Be sure to stop by their site as well for all the up to date collections too.

**And a quick update on the whole need to lose this weight already front, 20 days into my new workout plan I am now into pants that I could barely squeeze into when I left LA last November {tried them on in January and there was no way they were even thinking of buttoning}.  Thinking I need to add that blue hoodie to my closet as a go me present!  I mean, it would be perfect for long walks through the park and that can only lead to more weight loss right?

For the girls

I just discovered Francesca's Collections and my oh my are there so many great pieces to feast your eyes on.  Filled to the brim with carefully curated fashions, the girly girl in my is ready to pull out the well worn credit card.  And for the next 3 days they are having a fantastic summer sale, so go check it out, the deals are almost shocking.

Lovely wears

Over the last year or so, I've tried to put a little more effort into pulling a 'look' together instead of slipping on old jeans, a tee and flats and the 2011 line from European company Thomsen is exactly what I am loving right now.  Super girly with lots of flowers and soft materials.  Oh how I wish Thomsen sold in the US.  If only I could find a way to wear things like this in the weather out here, 50 degrees isn't exactly bare leg weather.  Not to mention the only time I leave the house I'm walking up or down a hill, not the easiest in heels, but I'm working on it.  How do you city girls do it, my feet are killing me with all this walking and I'm always in flats!

On sale now...

I've had a bit of a shopping bug lately thanks to all the new to me shops in my neighborhood, but of course I couldn't stop at the brick and mortar stops.  Thankfully I tend to just browse online and the credit card stays safe, but the sale section of Beklina has a few pieces I wouldn't mind adding to my wardrobe.  From jump suits to scarfs, there are a range of items with slight discounts.

Quick break for bikes

Just loving this little bike dress from Emerson Made.  It would be perfect with a sweater{and maybe tights} to go walking around town in, just wish it wasn't silk.  A girl can dream right?

Wishing for...

Its been a while since I've had a virtual shopping spree where if I had deep pockets filled with cash I would buy in a heart beat.  Seems I am on a major yellow kick right now, even though I have very little of it in real life.  What would you buy if you had a stash of cash?

All kinds of yellow!
Yellow tank, bracelet, yellow instant dress, ring, vegan purse, black floral necklace, filigree necklace, bandeau pinstripe dress, starlet stilettos  I tried on those shoes, they are ridiculously high but so good looking I just wish they had my size.
